Diputados que forman parte de la comisión especial que debate y estudia el nuevo Código Penal aún no han llegado a un consenso sobre la inclusión o no de la interrupción voluntaria del embarazo bajo tres causales.
Este lunes, la diputada y miembro de esta comisión, Rafaela Albuquerque, aseguró que están a la espera de conocer y aprobar el proyecto de ley de referéndum, depositado por el Poder Ejecutivo el pasado viernes, para conocer la opinión de la población respecto al tema.
No obstante, la expresidenta de la Cámara de Diputados también dijo que «nadie tenga miedo de tomar una decisión legislativa por presión», ante la decisión de apoyar o no el proyecto de ley del aborto bajo las tres causales.
Al igual que la legisladora, el también miembro de la comisión, Omar Fernández, afirmó que aún no han llegado a un consenso sobre si agregar o no las tres causales al código penal.
«Estamos trabajando con la comisión de Justicia el tema del Código Penal, ciertamente hay una comisión especial que se a apoderado para el tema de las tres causales, pero no hay todavía consenso claro, nosotros todavía como comisión no estamos apoderados del tema, por lo que tenemos que esperar lo que determine la comisión especial», comentó.
Asimismo, al ser cuestionado sobre la posibilidad del referéndum, Fernández dijo que esa posibilidad no se ha discutido en la comisión, pero que «es una opción para ser ponderada».
Otro que ofreció su posición fue el diputado y también miembro de la comisión, Jesús Manuel Sánchez, quien expresó que la tendencia es tratar el tema de las tres causales como una Ley especial.
«La intención que hay es que estas tres causales sean conocidas en una ley especial, como hay un proyecto de ley depositado ya en el hemiciclo», reveló Sánchez.
No obstante, dijo que la comisión tiene la «capacidad soberana» de decidir mediante votación la toma de esta decisión.
